Have you started? You know, the pee-on-a-stick-every-morning-or-multiple-times-per-day craze?
Not everyone does and that's probably better mentally and emotionally, but I did. It didn't take long for me to start buying the at-home pregnancy tests, but I was on to trying to conceive (TTC) my third when the crazy pee-on-a-stick (POAS) craze started. It took us three and a half years to have her and in those three and a half years there were so so so many failed cycles, Chlomid cycles, IUI cycles, and an IVF cycle. Those cycles all led to many prayerful and hopeful months, which in return, led to so so so many opportunities to find out if I was pregnant or not.
My advice has two parts – bipolar in nature though, so be aware:
1. Don't start the crazy craze. It is an emotional and mental tax on an already tough situation. I'm not going to say, “Relax, it'll happen when it's supposed to happen.” because that phrase drove me crazy and was hurtful.
2. Buy in bulk from Amazon or somewhere online or, buy from the dollar store. I found them to be just as reliable – and much much cheaper – than the name brand ones you can purchase through the grocery stores and pharmaceutical stores.
Then, when the urge to POAS several times a day, scanning each result in every room and through the varying light of each window in your home comes, you won't be spending a ton of money.
So if you're anything like me, go ahead, POAS! Just go with the cheap ones.
